About the Artist

Dr. John Reiswig is the creator, writer, and illustrator of Coasteaze. A retired Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer, John began sketching as a creative outlet and a way to share stories from life in uniform. What started as quick drawings for friends and coworkers has grown into a full cartoon series that captures the real, the ridiculous, and the all-too-relatable moments of military life.

When he isn’t illustrating or writing comics, John develops training courses for the Coast Guard at Training Center Petaluma. Coasteaze is his way of offering perspective and keeping humor alive in the service.

He also writes science fiction at PitchSpace.net, where his stories explore deep space, survival, and the future of humanity beyond Earth.
